Citroen Maserati
A daily driver
The car did not escape Normans innovative thinking and engineering.
Norman have spent a considerate amount of time in 1987 designing a suspension for his K100 that used this Citroen system.
European cars sometimes have overheating problems in warm climates like California. So Norman added extra insulation under the carburetors to improve hot starting.
The original fan belts were prone to burning up when paired with a more powerful alternator. So Norman made his own alternator pulley for a bigger fan belt.
A notoriously weak point of the Maserati engine was the ignition system. It's cassette points system required frequent adjustments and was wear prone.
Norman designed and made his own ignition system. It used transistor type triggers in his own housing. it was designed to be a drop in part keeping standard coils and wiring. In 10,000 miles it has never touched it again.
